Sourcing Is the Whole Game
With premium cars, the difference between a good purchase and a regrettable one is made long before shipping — it is made at sourcing. Anyone can buy a Genesis or a Grandeur; finding one that is genuinely low-mileage, accident-free, and fully optioned takes time, contacts, and a willingness to walk away. In Seoul we draw on three channels: the major auction halls, private storage and one-owner cars, and a network of dealers who call us first. Each channel has strengths and traps. Our advantage is not access alone but the discipline to reject far more cars than we accept on a client's behalf.
The Auction Halls
Korea's wholesale auctions move enormous volume, and they are where many export units begin. The halls publish condition reports and grades, but a grade is a starting point, not a verdict. We read the report, then inspect the car in the lanes ourselves — checking panel gaps, paint depth, and the underbody rather than trusting a single letter. Auctions reward speed and local knowledge; a desirable low-mileage Genesis can attract real competition, and overpaying erases the export margin. We set firm ceilings against current domestic pricing and stick to them, because the next clean car is rarely far behind.
Private and One-Owner Cars
Some of our best units never reach an auction. Private sellers and small specialist dealers hold one-owner cars that were garaged, lightly driven, and dealer-serviced from new — exactly the profile a discerning export buyer wants. These take longer to find and require relationships built over years, but they reward the effort with cleaner history and fewer surprises. When a car comes with a single owner, a coherent service trail, and genuine low mileage, it justifies a premium because it removes risk. We would rather wait for the right private car than rush a marginal auction unit onto a container.
Verifying the Odometer and History
Low mileage only matters if it is real. Every car we shortlist goes through a documented history check covering ownership count, recorded accidents, insurance claims, and prior usage such as rental or lease. We cross-reference the displayed odometer against service stamps, inspection records, and the wear visible on the steering wheel, pedals, and seat bolsters. A car claiming low kilometres with a polished gear selector and worn driver's seat tells its own story. Where the evidence does not agree, we pass. This is the single most important filter we apply, because a falsified odometer turns a premium purchase into a liability the moment it is discovered.
Confirming Options and Condition
Premium value lives in the options, so we confirm the full build rather than trusting a listing. Using the specification and our own walkthrough, we verify that ventilated seats, the head-up display, surround cameras, adaptive features, and the premium audio actually function — not merely that they appear on paper. We photograph the paint readings, the interior wear, the tyres, and any blemishes so the client sees the car as it truly is. For hybrids we check the high-voltage system's health. Nothing is hidden; if a car has a flaw, it goes in the report, and the price reflects it honestly.
From Shortlist to Your Container
Once a unit passes every filter we present it with a complete dossier — history report, build specification, our inspection notes, and a full photo set — priced FOB against the live Korean market with freight quoted separately. Only after you approve does payment follow, and only after payment clears do we secure and prepare the car. This sequence protects both sides: you never wire funds on a vague description, and we never commit a container to a car you have not seen. The result is a low-mileage premium unit chosen with the same care we would apply to buying for ourselves.
