How to Read a Korean Used-Car Inspection Report

How to Read a Korean Used-Car Inspection Report

A premium exporter’s perspective from Seoul, written for buyers who care about the details. An inspection score only helps if you know what it means. Here is how to read one and what to ask for before any deposit.

What the score actually covers

A good inspection grades exterior panels, interior wear, the engine bay, the underbody and the odometer, then gives a 0–100 score. Treat anything with no listed flaws and a suspiciously perfect score with caution.

Accident and flood history

Ask explicitly whether the unit has any accident repair or flood history noted. Honest exporters disclose minor points — a noted wheel scratch or a repainted panel — rather than hiding them.

The five photos to always request

Before a deposit, request: a 360° exterior set, the full interior, the engine bay, the underbody, and a close-up of the odometer — plus a short driving video. What you approve should be exactly what ships.
